In New York, you can find some of the best examples of post-war residential architecture in buildings like the white brick Manhattan House... You can also find some of the worst, like this... 300 W 55th St (which is actually on 8th Avenue) ... a big box that's never been washed. The whole stretch of 8th Avenue between Columbus Circle and the Port Authority Bus Terminal is pretty ugly and this building is just one reason why. It was completed in 1964 and designed by Herbert Fleischer Associates. [1] What do you think? Take the poll and/or leave a comment below...
