Taking up two whole blocks, this building is both massive and imposing... which if you think about it, kind of makes sense given that it's occupied by the federal government. Located in Lower Manhattan just north of city hall, it is the tallest federal building in the United States. Some of the agencies located there are the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Social Security Administration, the GSA, and US Citizenship and and Immigration Services. [1] Built in 1967, it was designed by Alfred Easton Poor, Eggers & Higgins, and Kahn & Jacobs. An addition to the west (facing Broadway) was completed in 1976 and designed by Kahn & Jacobs, Poor & Swanke, and the Eggers Partnership (looks like basically the same guys). [2] What do you think?
