33 Thomas St, also known as the AT&T Long Lines Building, is another massive telephone exchange building originally built to house switching equipment.
Designed by John Carl Warnecke, it was completed in Lower Manhattan in 1974 and stands at approximately 550 ft. [1] Unlike many other brutalist buildings, who have bare concrete facades, the exterior walls of 33 Thomas St are covered with Swedish granite. The sheer size, however, combined with a lack of windows, makes this building quite an eyesore.
